The Shelly Dimmer 0/1-10V PM Gen3 (model S3DM-0010WW) doesn't dim bulbs: it dims drivers. That distinction is what decides whether it's for you or not.
It's the only Shelly dimmer with consumption measurement and with Matter as standard.
Two circuits, not one

Here the power and the control go by separate paths:
- The relay output (O) carries the 230 V to the driver.
- The Dim+ and Dim− terminals carry the 0 to 10 V control signal.
Connect the Shelly's Dim+ to the driver's Dim+ and Dim− to Dim−: polarity matters. The S1 and S2 inputs accept a switch or push-buttons, in a one- or two-button configuration.
Why the relay isn't an extra

Here's the detail that confuses a lot of people. In 1-10 V, the lowest possible signal is 1 V, and that value corresponds to minimum brightness, not off. No matter how far you turn the control down, the light stays on at around 10 %.
In 0-10 V most drivers do switch the output off when they reach 0 V, but not all guarantee it.
That's why this unit has a relay: it cuts the driver's power and achieves the real switch-off. A 0-10 V dimmer with no relay leaves the light on at minimum forever.
What you need to use it
A dimmable LED driver with a 0-10 V or 1-10 V input. You'll recognize it by two extra terminals marked Dim+ and Dim−, or 1-10V. If your fixture doesn't have them, this unit is no good for you.
You also need neutral at the installation point: unlike the Dimmer Gen3, this one doesn't work without it.

Frequently asked questions
Does it matter whether my driver is 0-10 V or 1-10 V?
The unit supports both. What changes is the behavior at minimum: with 1-10 V you rely on the relay to switch off.
My light doesn't fully switch off
Check that the relay output (O) is powering the driver. If you connected the driver directly to the line, bypassing the relay, you only have brightness control, not on/off.
The light behaves in reverse
Check the polarity of Dim+ and Dim−. Some drivers also allow reversing the signal from their own settings.
How many drivers can I connect?
It depends on the control current each one draws and the load the relay supports. Check your drivers' datasheet and don't size to the limit.
Is it good for 24 V LED strips?
Not directly. Strips are dimmed by PWM. It would only work if their power supply accepts a 0-10 V input.
And for normal bulbs?
No. For dimmable 230 V bulbs you need the Shelly Dimmer Gen3.
