Shelly Bypass – Accessory for low-power loads on devices without neutral
Precise control even at loads below 20 W.
The Shelly Bypass is an essential component for the correct operation of Shelly devices that do not require a neutral wire, such as the Shelly 1L , Shelly Dimmer 2 and Shelly Dimmer Gen3 , especially when connected to low power loads (less than 20 W at 230 V AC) such as LED bulbs or energy saving lamps.
This small accessory is installed in parallel with the load, allowing the minimum current flow necessary for the Shelly device to function properly even with very light loads.
Compatibility:
Shelly 1L
Shelly Dimmer 2
Shelly Dimmer Gen3
Main applications:
Residential installations without neutral
Apartments, hotels, and multi-family buildings (MDUs)
Offices, small shops, cafes or public places
Educational centers, libraries and municipal buildings
Technical characteristics:
Operating voltage: 230 V AC
Power consumption: < 4 W
Dimensions (without cables): 39 x 23 x 13 mm
Material: Durable plastic
Color: White
Working temperature: -20 °C to +70 °C
Allowable humidity: 30% – 70% RH
Maximum operating altitude: 2000 m
Why do you need a Shelly Bypass?
If you use Shelly devices in installations without a neutral and connect lamps or appliances that consume less than 20 W, the Bypass ensures that the device receives enough power to operate correctly, without flickering or failures.
Facility:
It is connected in parallel to the load, usually inside the control box or at the light point. Professional installation is recommended.
