1. Gather the tools:
Before you start, make sure you have everything you need to hand:
- Shelly 1PM
- Screwdriver
- Wire strippers
- Insulating tape
- Multimeter (optional, but recommended)
- Your Android phone with the Sit Iot app installed. This will make the installation much easier.
- And the Shelly Cloud app installed so you can control your devices afterwards.
2. Prepare the installation:
- Turn off the power: For safety, it's essential to switch off the electrical power to the lamp's circuit at the electrical panel.
- Access the lamp's wiring: Take the lamp down from the ceiling and locate the live, neutral and ground wires.
- Check the wiring: If you're not sure which wire is which, use a multimeter to identify them.
3. Connect the Shelly 1PM:
- Connect the live wire (L) to the "L" terminal of the Shelly 1PM.
- Connect the neutral wire (N) to the "N" terminal of the Shelly 1PM.
- Connect the output wire (O) to the lamp's live wire.
- Connect the input wire (SW) to the lamp's neutral wire.
4. Mount the Shelly 1PM:
- Secure the Shelly 1PM inside the lamp's junction box. Use insulating tape if necessary to stop it from moving.
- Reattach the lamp to the ceiling.
5. Set up the Shelly 1PM:
- Connect the Shelly 1PM to your Wi-Fi network with the Sit Iot app: Open the Sit Iot app to add a new device and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Set up the control options with the Shelly Cloud app: You can customize the lamp's name, schedule on and off times, create scenes, etc.
