Guide to installing Shelly 1PM on a ceiling light

1. Gather the tools:

Before you start, make sure you have everything you need on hand:

• Shelly 1 PM
• Screwdriver
• Wire strippers
• Insulating tape
• Multimeter (optional, but recommended)
• Your Android phone with the Sit IoT app installed. This will make installation much easier.
• And your Shelly Cloud app installed so you can control your devices later.

2. Prepare for installation:

• Disconnect the power: For safety reasons, it is essential that you disconnect the electrical power to the light circuit at the electrical panel.
• Access the light fixture wiring: Remove the light fixture from the ceiling and locate the live, neutral, and ground wires.
• Check the wiring: If you're not sure which wire is which, use a multimeter to identify them.

3. Connect Shelly 1PM:

• Connect the phase wire (L) to the "L" terminal of Shelly 1PM.
• Connect the neutral wire (N) to the "N" terminal of Shelly 1PM.
• Connect the output wire (O) to the phase wire of the lamp.
• Connect the input wire (SW) to the neutral wire of the lamp.

4. Ride Shelly 1 PM:

• Secure Shelly 1PM inside the light fixture's junction box. Use electrical tape if necessary to prevent it from moving.
• Remount the lamp on the ceiling.

5. Configure Shelly 1PM:

• Connect Shelly 1PM to your WiFi network with the Sit IoT app: Open the app Click IoT to add a new device and follow the on-screen instructions.
• Configure control options with Shelly Cloud app : You can customize the lamp name, schedule on/off times, create scenes, etc.
