Shelly Bypass – Accessory for low-power loads in devices without a neutral wire
Precise control even with loads under 20 W.
The Shelly Bypass is an essential component for the correct operation of Shelly devices that do not require a neutral wire, such as the Shelly 1L and Shelly Dimmer 2, especially when connected to low-power loads (less than 20 W at 230V AC), such as LED bulbs or low-consumption lamps.
This small accessory is installed in parallel with the load, allowing for the minimum current circulation necessary for the Shelly device to function correctly even with very light loads.
Compatibility:
Shelly 1L
Shelly Dimmer 2
Main applications:
Residential installations without neutral wire
Apartments, hotels, and multi-dwelling units (MDUs)
Offices, small businesses, cafes, or public venues
Educational centers, libraries, and municipal buildings
Technical specifications:
Operating voltage: 230 V AC
Power consumption: < 4 W
Dimensions (without cables): 39 x 23 x 13 mm
Material: Durable plastic
Color: White
Working temperature: -20 °C to +70 °C
Permitted humidity: 30 % – 70 % RH
Maximum operating altitude: 2000 m
Why do you need a Shelly Bypass?
If you use Shelly devices in installations without a neutral wire and connect lamps or appliances that consume less than 20 W, the Bypass ensures that the device receives enough power to operate correctly, without flickering or failures.
Installation:
It is connected in parallel to the load, usually inside the switch box or at the light point. Professional installation is recommended.
