Shelly i3 Configuration

  • Connect the Shelly i3 to the 220V power supply on the L and N terminals.
  • Connect the switches/push buttons to terminals SW1, SW2, and SW3 as needed.
Settings in the Shelly App:
  1. Add the Shelly i3 to your Wi-Fi network using the Shelly app.
  2. Give it an identifiable name (for example, "Light Control").

Physical Installation:

  • Connect the 220V power supply to the L and N terminals of the Shelly 1.
  • Connect the load (e.g. pool light) to terminals O and N.
  • Connect terminal I to phase (L).
Settings in the Shelly App:
  • Download the Shelly app on your mobile device.
  • Add the Shelly 1 to your Wi-Fi network by following the instructions in the app.
  • Give it an identifiable name (e.g., "Pool Light").

Configuring Actions on the Shelly i3

Look in the app details for the IP assigned to the Shelly Plus 1

The Shelly i3 can send commands to other Shelly devices using URL endpoints. All action URLs can be found in the Shelly API documentation .

Types of Actions

  • Button Switched ON : Sends a command to a URL when the button is on. Works only when the button is set to Toggle.
  • Button Switched OFF : Sends a command to a URL when the button is off. Works only when the button is set to Toggle.
  • Button Short Press : Sends a command to a URL when the button is pressed once. Works only when the button is set to Momentary.
  • Button Long Press : Sends a command to a URL when the button is held down. Works only when the button is set to Momentary.
  • Double Press (Button 2x Short Press) : Sends a command to a URL when the button is pressed twice. Works only when the button is set to Momentary.
  • Triple Press (Button 3x Short Press) : Sends a command to a URL when the button is pressed three times. Works only when the button is set to Momentary.
  • Button Short + Long Press : Sends a command to a URL when the button is pressed once and then held. Works only when the button is set to Momentary.
  • Button Long + Short Press : Sends a command to a URL when the button is held down and then pressed again. Works only when the button is set to Momentary.

Button Configuration

Button Type:
  • Momentary : To use a momentary push button.
  • Toggle Switch : To use a toggle switch.
  • Input Inversion : Inverts the on/off positions of the button.
Longpush Duration:
  • Min : Minimum time the button must be held down to activate the long press command. Range (in ms): 100–3000.
  • Max : Maximum time the button must be held down to activate the long press command. Range (in ms): 200–6000.
  • Multipush : Maximum time between presses to activate a multipush action. Range: 100-1000 ms.

Example Configuration to Control Shelly 1

Open Shelly i3 Settings:
  • In the Shelly app, select the Shelly i3.
  • Go to Settings and then Actions .
Configure Actions:
To turn on a Shelly 1 To shut down a Shelly 1, set an action in the URL:
